Liposuction in Bangalore

Every week I meet someone who has done everything right — years of training, a cleaned-up diet — and still has a tummy, flanks or lower back that won't shift. Liposuction is the surgical answer to that plateau. It changes your contour, not your weight, and I'll tell you honestly at consultation if it isn't the right tool for you.

Quick summary

  • For stubborn fat in people close to their goal weight (BMI roughly 20–32) with reasonable skin elasticity.
  • Liposuction 360 treats the whole torso — abdomen, flanks and lower back — in one 3–4 hour session.
  • VASER (ultrasound-assisted) liposuction, as day-care surgery under general anaesthesia.
  • Most desk workers return in 5–7 days; the final contour settles by about 3 months.
  • Lipo 360 starts from ₹1,75,000 in Bangalore, including theatre, anaesthesia and garments; in Dubai, from about AED 27,000.

Is it right for you?

Liposuction is a contouring operation. You're likely to be a good candidate if:

  • You are close to your goal weight — roughly a BMI between 20 and 32 — with fat that doesn't respond to diet and exercise.
  • Your skin has reasonable elasticity, so it can re-drape over the new contour.
  • You are medically fit for general anaesthesia.
  • Your goal is shape, not the number on the scale.

When it isn't the right tool

  • Weight loss. If your BMI is above 32 and the goal is losing 20 kg, see a weight-loss specialist first and come back for contouring afterwards.
  • Loose skin. After pregnancy or major weight loss, liposuction alone gives a smaller shape but the skin stays loose — a tummy tuck or a combined procedure may suit you better.
  • Instead of a machine. Non-surgical fat treatments have a place for people already near their goal; they reduce a small proportion of fat per session.

Areas & approaches

Most requested

Liposuction 360

The full circumference of the torso — abdomen, flanks, lower back and, where indicated, upper back and bra rolls — in one session, so the result reads as a continuous contour.

Targeted

Single areas

Where fat sits in one region — for example the abdomen, flanks or under the chin — a smaller, targeted procedure may be enough. Decided at assessment.

Add-on

With fat transfer

Fat removed can be purified and transferred to the hips or buttocks. This adds roughly 60–90 minutes of theatre time.

Combined

With a tummy tuck

For loose skin after pregnancy or weight loss, liposuction is often combined with a tummy tuck in one operating session.

On the day

Liposuction 360 is performed under general anaesthesia and takes 3 to 4 hours (add 60–90 minutes if fat transfer is included). I use VASER, which loosens fat with ultrasound before it is removed. Incisions are 3–4 mm and placed in natural skin creases.

It is day-care surgery: you go home the same evening in a compression garment, and most people are walking within about six hours. Expect moderate soreness — like a very hard gym session — managed with oral painkillers.

Recovery, step by step

  1. Day 1

Home the same evening in a compression garment. Walking within about six hours. Moderate soreness, controlled with oral painkillers.

  2. Week 1

Most desk-based patients return to work on day 5–7. Swelling is normal and expected.

  3. Week 2

Usually the peak swelling week. Most people are off painkillers. Light walking encouraged — no gym yet.

  4. Week 6

About 70% of the final result is visible. The garment comes off during the day. Light cardio and upper-body training resume; no heavy core work yet.

  5. Month 3

The final contour settles. Full activity and full gym. We review your result.

Manual work and heavy exercise usually take 4–6 weeks. Your plan is adjusted to your procedure and how you heal.

Results

Fat cells that are removed do not grow back, so the change in shape is long-lasting. The fat that remains can still enlarge if you gain weight, which can alter your contour — keeping your weight within about 3–5 kg of your post-surgery weight helps the result last.

Scars are small (3–4 mm) and fade over 6–12 months; for most people they become hard to find in ordinary light within a year. Results vary between individuals.

Risks & safety

Expected and usually temporary: bruising, swelling and numbness in the treated areas, and fluid leaking from the small incisions in the first day or two.

Less common: contour irregularities or asymmetry, fluid collection (seroma), skin discolouration, infection, and changes in skin sensation that take months to settle. With ultrasound-assisted devices, skin burns are a rare risk.

Rare but serious: blood clots in the legs or lungs (DVT or pulmonary embolism), fat embolism, and reactions to anaesthesia. Walking early, compression and a pre-operative health assessment all reduce risk. We review your personal risk factors — including BMI, medicines and medical history — before any surgery is planned.

From ₹1,75,000

Inclusive of operating theatre, anaesthesia and compression garments. The quote you receive at consultation is the quote.

Liposuction 360 · Dubai
From AED 27,000

For surgery at Cocoona Clinic or Dubai London Hospital. Your quote is confirmed at consultation; 5% VAT applies in the UAE.

What moves the number

  • Areas treated — abdomen and flanks alone, or the full 360 including upper back and bra rolls.
  • Fat transfer to the hips or buttocks, if added.
  • Theatre time — a longer case means longer anaesthesia.
  • BMI — a higher BMI means a longer case and more careful aftercare.

If the final quote is outside your budget, say so at the consultation. A smaller, honest procedure that fits your budget is better than being upsold into one that doesn't.

Questions patients ask

What is Liposuction 360?

Liposuction 360 is a full-circumference contouring operation that removes fat from the abdomen, flanks and lower back — and, where indicated, the upper back — in one session. It takes three to four hours under general anaesthesia and is day-care surgery, so most patients go home the same evening.

Am I a candidate for liposuction?

You may be a candidate if your BMI is roughly 20–32, your skin has reasonable elasticity, you're fit for general anaesthesia and your goal is shape rather than weight loss. With a higher BMI or significant loose skin, alternative or combined procedures are discussed at consultation.

How much does liposuction cost in Bangalore?

Liposuction 360 with Dr Sanjog in Bangalore starts from ₹1,75,000, including operating theatre, anaesthesia and compression garments. The final quote depends on the areas treated, your BMI and whether fat transfer is added, and it is confirmed at consultation.

How much does liposuction cost in Dubai?

In Dubai, VASER Liposuction 360 with Dr Sanjog starts from about AED 27,000, depending on the areas treated, whether fat transfer is added and the facility. Your exact quote follows consultation, and 5% VAT applies in the UAE.

Is liposuction painful?

You're asleep under general anaesthesia during surgery. Afterwards, most people describe moderate soreness — similar to a very hard gym session — for the first several days, managed with oral painkillers. By the second week most patients no longer need them. Experiences vary between individuals.

How much time off work will I need?

Most desk-based patients return to work five to seven days after surgery. Manual work and heavy exercise usually take four to six weeks. It helps to plan a clear week off, with some flexibility in the second week while swelling peaks.

How long do liposuction results last?

Fat cells that are removed do not grow back, so the contour change is long-lasting. Remaining fat can still enlarge with weight gain and alter your shape, so keeping your weight within about 3–5 kg of your post-surgery weight helps the result last.

Will I have visible scars?

Incisions are 3–4 millimetres and placed in natural skin creases. They usually fade over six to twelve months, and for most patients they become difficult to find in ordinary light within a year. Healing and scarring vary between individuals and skin types.

Liposuction or CoolSculpting and HIFU?

Liposuction physically removes fat cells in one session and gives a predictable contour change. Non-surgical treatments reduce a smaller proportion of fat per session, often need several sessions, and suit people already close to their goal. Which is right depends on your body and goals.

Can liposuction be combined with a tummy tuck?

Yes. Liposuction is often combined with a tummy tuck, particularly after pregnancy or weight loss when there is loose skin. Both are done in one operating session. Whether combining suits you — and what it means for recovery and cost — is discussed at consultation.
