After the procedure, you can expect to feel groggy and disoriented. This is due to the effects of anaesthesia on the brain. It may take several hours for the drugs to fully wear off. You may also have some side effects such as nausea, vomiting, or a sore throat, but these are usually temporary and can be managed with medication.
After the sister tells you start with sips of water every 10 minutes gradually. You can have khichadi/ idli. If at any point in time, you feel like vomiting stop and inform the sister whom I have instructed to give anti-vomiting medication. Normal diet to be resumed from the next day.
Please expect some amount of discomfort/ pain. If you think the pain is unbearable then please talk to the sister whom I have instructed to give higher painkillers if required.
Post-discharge a painkiller will be prescribed which you can take on a and when basis (but not to exceed 3 tablet/ day). Sometimes an antibiotic may be added if deemed necessary.

There is no diet restriction, and the diet you were following before surgery needs to be followed. A special emphasis on a vegetarian source of protein like paneer and dal can be made in the first week especially if you have a tendency for constipation.
