STEPS OF THE PROCEDURE

Marking

Marking for liposuction and surgical excision

Right (Liposuctioned) vs Left (Non - Liposuctioned)

Extracted Fat

Using negative suction device, the medicated fluid and fat is suctioned out. The fat collects on top. 

Gynecomastia gland

Glandular Excision

The stubborn glandular tissue which doesn't get suctioned out has to be surgically removed. 

BEFORE SURGERY

FASTING FOR 6 HOURS

Gynecomastia is performed under GA and will require 6 hours of fasting

PARTS PREPARATION

Shaving of the chest and upper abdomen is done to facilitate surgery

CONSENT FOR SURGERY

Consent for surgery will be taken to enable the patient to make an informed decision about the procedure

PHOTOGRAPH & VIDEO

To improve communication between patient as well as for future patient education and academic reasons photograph and video may be requested from the patient. 

PRE-ANAESTHESIA CHECKUP

Our anaesthesia colleague will evaluate to facilitate safe surgery. 

AFTER SURGERY

ON OT TABLE

The anesthesiologist will slowly wake you up from sleep. Some degree of confusion and grogginess should be expected. 

RECOVERY ROOM

Observation for around 2 hours is done wherein you gradually come out of anaesthesia. Some  nausea and at times vomiting can be expected but medication will be given to counteract those. 

PAIN

Round clock pain killer will be given to counteract pain at the operated site. 

DRESSING

A bulky compressive dressing will be applied at the dressing site. 3-4 days from surgery the dressing will be changed. 

COMPRESSION GARMENT

A customised compression garment will have to worn for 3-5 months for optimal results.
